The PelicanOne of the Thrushian’s notorious prison ships, the stated purpose of the Pelican was to transport enemies of the state to trial or to prison. In truth, few birds survived the trip, let alone made it to the relative safety of prison. In fact, the only survivors were those who managed to escape the ship. It is through their accounts that we have learned of the atrocities inflicted on prisoners, including forcing the poor souls to kedge, or pull the ship at low altitudes,'til they died of exhaustion.
