Fisher Cat

Description

Fishercat (Martes pennanti)

One of the most ferocious mammals in the forest, the fishercat would hunt and and devour nearly any animal it fancied including birds, small mammals, wild turkeys, bobcats and porcupines. In fact, it has been said that a fisher could flip a porcupine onto its back and "scoop out its belly like a ripe melon." As a result, fishers terrified all creatures, great and small, causing them to dig deep into their burrows when they heard these monsters scream in the night.
