Description
Shrike (Lanis excubitor)Pirate Captain of the Goshawk, the Kite, the Razorbill and the Caracara. Shrike preyed on small birds and rodents, catching them with his bill and then "saved them for later" by impaling them on thorns. A ruthless killer, he was the most feared pirate captain by both his enemies and his crew. Decidedly independent and non-political, yet he unwittingly had a pivotal role in the victory against the colonials in the Migrant Rebellion.
Eggs: 4-6 pale grey eggs spotted with dark grey and brown. Nest: a large mass of twigs, lichens, moss and feathers of other birds.
