KedgingKedging was one of the most grueling tasks for a sailor on a flying ship. It involved physically lifting a ship up to an airstream; the sailors flying upwards harnessed to lines attached to the vessel. This engraving depicts an unsuccessful attempt by Blue Jay’s crew to kedge the Grosbeak.
